The first batch limited delivery is intended, but not guaranteed, in late summer 2019. This date was delayed from the initial plan of 2018 start. Depositors will receive updates on delivery dates for their area as development, testing, and other milestones are achieved.
All electric bicycles that are more powerful than 250W in EU or 750W in US are considered to be mopeds and need to fulfill all related requirements in order to be driven on public roads. These requirements include mandatory helmets, license plates and registration, appropriate lights and indicators, in some regions even insurance. Neematic FR/1 first 50 bikes are intended only for the off-road and closed circuit use, they are not road legal.
The Neematic bike is built for offroad extreme riding. You can ride it in closed tracks and trails, and depending on your local policies and laws - in forests, mountains, deserts and other off-road locations.
We are now focusing on delivering a capable off-road machine, where being road legal is not mandatory. We do, however, see a lot of potential in a street version of the Neematic bike, and expect a road legal version to become available in 2019.
Remember that this is a bicycle, not a motorcycle - therefore its transportation is much easier than you’d expect for something with this much power! The bike weighs roughly 50 kilograms (110 lbs), and you can fit it into most cars with folding rear seats (you could carry up to four bikes with a 7-seater minivan). The removable battery allows to further reduce the weight and you can transport Neematic on bicycle racks that 35 kilograms. Just remember to check the manufacturer’s specifications if you bike rack is suited to hold the required weight.
It takes 2.5 hours to fully charge a drained battery. During days of a lot of active riding in a track you could also swap a drained battery to a charged one and continue riding. Send us an email if you would like to get an additional battery unit.
For the first series we will be making just one size frame. However, you will be able to order seatposts of varying sizes to best suit your geometry. Due to the unique construction, we can make seatposts not only for different heights but also adjust what would be top tube length on a standard bicycle, allowing for much more adjustment for the distance on the seat to the handlebars. Therefore size-wise, the bike is suitable for nearly all riders.
Wash it with a water hose, lube the chains, regularly check brake pad wear and take your fork and shock every season for a service. With electric there is much less hassle: no engine oil, no filters, no spark plugs. And the motor itself lasts for much longer.
Now you can reserve your Neematic FR/1 bike for a EUR 200 deposit to secure one out of 50 bikes - the first limited production series. We will come back to you to sign the purchase agreement in the beginning of 2018. We ask for a deposit to see your determination for purchasing the Neematic bike and we need to that to ensure the first 50 bikes will hit the tracks right after we deliver them. The deposit you make is not a pre-order, and it is refundable in full any time at your request.
The final price will be EUR 8,000 euros + taxes and delivery costs. The EUR 200 deposit will become deducted from the price when we ship the bikes.

Your standard DH bike suspension components would have to be upgraded and prepared for the increased weight of the bike, which we have already done on our suspension. Neematic is sold fully equipped as because all the components are chosen and adjusted to work best together, as a whole complete system.
The final bike specifications will be firmed up February/March (the latest) 2019, and you will be asked to make the final decision to buy the Neematic FR/1. Some components may possibly change (we expect very few), but we promise you that the final bike will be a beast build to go offroad!
Neematic FR/1 comes with both super-pedal-assist and twist throttle joy. Throughout testing, we recognized that an off-road bike with pedals expands both MX and mountain bike experience.
We did not just keep the pedals - we engineered a unique super-pedal-assist mode with astounding power output!
Besides that, pedals enable you to ride the bike even without the motor, they provide you with a feeling of riding a bike rather than a motorcycle, and maintains the bicycle image.
The Neematic FR/1 ebike has two riding modes.
Throttle control mode activates the twist throttle like you have on a motorcycle. Neematic FR/1 stands out with instant and smooth acceleration, and combined with adjustable regenerative braking, this mode provides you with incredible control of your bike. Most suitable for riding in speedy tracks or more technical segments.
Pedal assist mode uses electric motor to deliver additional power when you push the pedal down. The feeling is nothing like what you’ve ever experienced - have you ever pedaled something to go as fast as a motorcycle? Speed aside, it is truly fun way to drive the bike, it feels like you are much more involved in riding the bike and also lets you have some exercise. Works best for trail riding.
The bike uses Hope Tech3 V4 downhill bike brakes. The setup on the cockpit, however, is the other way around - on the right side you have the front brake, and the rear brake is on the left. This setup was chosen to suit motorcycle riders who are used to having the front brake on the right side. What is more, because of the twist throttle on the right side of the bike it would be very difficult to wheelie the bike if the same hand had to control both the accelerator and the rear brake. The brakes are hydraulic, and do not regenerate any power.
You can get some of the energy back to the battery when using the adjustable motor braking. The rider can adjust the amount of motor braking on the go with a simple twist of a dial. The motor braking can be almost non-existent to let you cruise on the bike, or it can be turned all the way up to nearly block the rear wheel when you let go of the throttle. We created this feature to imitate motor braking that gas bikes have, with adjustability allowing every rider to find the setting he or she likes best.
Our engineering and design lab is in Lithuania, European Union. This is where we assemble the bikes. We also have partnerships in Sweden.
